19 May Welcome, Andy! Our new Golf and Lodges Manager
Andrew Walton was born and raised in England but has been living in Norway for the last 27 years, mostly in the Mosjøen area in Northern Norway. He starts his position with us on June 1st, where he will be in charge of running the golf course, clubhouse and accommodation for Lofoten Links on Gimsøya Island in Lofoten. Andrew will be in charge of marketing, sales and networking and will also be responsible for HR, customer service and the budget.
Walton grew up in London and Ferring, a small coastal village near Brighton in the South of England. He has played golf since he was 7 years old and started his golfing career at Littlehampton Golf Club. This 53-year-old thus has over 46 years of golf experience, making him a perfect fit for Lofoten Links. He moved to Mosjøen in 1996 and immediately got involved with the Northern Norway golf scene there. He was the chairman/managing director of Helgeland Golf Club from 2004-2007 and has been a board member for over 15 years.
Walton has the following golf certifications:
- Level 3 Golf Coach – World Golf Teachers Federation
- Certified Putting Coach – SAM PuttLab and EyeLine Golf
- Certified Swing Coach – Swing Catalyst
Andrew officially start his position on June 1st this year.
