If experiencing the northern lights is on your bucket list, then you’ve come to the right place. Our lodges are perfectly situated facing north, where the northern lights often shine. With the open Norwegian Sea in front of you, you don’t have to worry about having any obstructed views of the northern lights dance. From our lodges you can sit by the fire, cozy up with a coffee or glass of wine, and enjoy the northern lights show right from your living room!

This is a super cool and unique service we offer, so even when you’re not here with us and want to see if the Northern Lights are dancing above Gimsøy, you can!
There are also various apps you can download that can send you alerts when the Northern Lights are in your area (My Aurora Forecast and Alerts is free).
However, one the best and most fun way to see the northern lights is to turn off all the lights in your lodge and watch from the windows, always looking North (toward the sea).
When staying at Lofoten Links Lodges, you won’t have to stay outside for hours or check constantly if there are any northern lights outside. Nor do you need to drive around for hours, hunting the northern lights down. We are the best location for seeing the northern lights, period. Just sit back and relax from either your the sofa in your lodge or from Restaurant Låven.
