26 Jun 18-hole course finally opens July 4 at 10:00
We are approaching the opening of the 18 hole course, which is set for Saturday 4th July at 10:00 in the morning. We’re having a small celebration on Saturday July 11th with a “Virgin Tournament”, which is open to all players. The tournament is ready in GolfBox for sign-up, including guest players. If you don’t have access to GolfBox, please contact Robert for more information and sign-up.
It will not be an official opening of the course just yet. We’ve had, as everyone living in the North of Norway knows a very cold May and June, and we are not quite where we want to be at this time regarding the quality of the course. For this reason we’ll continue with reduced green fee rates for the time being, as these were set at a low level initially.
Jeremy and the rest of the course personnel have, in spite of the challenging weather made a tremendous effort that allows us to open the course now in July as promised. We will work throughout the season to improve it so that even if it is not 100% now, it will be getting better as we approach the autumn. The most important part is now the establishment of grass, to keep the course in great shape for many years to come. Therefore, some bunkers, parts of fairways and tees etc. are closed in the beginning and will be opened gradually. The cutting height on greens, tees and fairways will also be higher for the same reason.
